Combining practical foreign-trade knowledge with automation, digital tools, and continuous learning to improve export documentation, compliance, and business operations.

I am Naveen Pallanti, a DGFT, export documentation, and foreign-trade professional based in Hyderabad, Telangana.

My professional experience covers DGFT operations, Advance Authorization, EPCG, export incentives, customs coordination, ICEGATE, export documentation, licensing, redemption, IGST and duty drawback matters, authority follow-up, and post-license compliance.

I have worked in consulting and in-house manufacturing environments, including the chemical-products sector. My career has progressed from data-entry and computer-operator responsibilities into executive and senior executive roles involving independent handling of DGFT and export-compliance activities.

I am particularly interested in resolving complex and long-pending cases, improving documentation accuracy, coordinating with government authorities and CHAs, and making operational workflows more efficient.

  1. Phase 1 · Outlook mail ingestion

    Connects to Outlook via MAPI, resolves Exchange addresses to sender SMTP addresses, scans recent mail with time-cutoff sorting, and offers a CLI with persistent search history and smart date defaults.

  2. Phase 2 · PDF parsing & natural-sort renaming

    Uses PyMuPDF and pdfplumber to extract shipping bill numbers, port codes, dates and invoice lists, then renames files with grouped, naturally sorted invoice numbers (e.g. INV_CW_0155 & 0156 & 0157.pdf).

  3. Phase 3 · Lifecycle conflict resolver

    Distinguishes interim Assessed copies from LEO copies, matches documents by filename plus SB number, purges superseded Assessed copies and protects established LEO copies.

  4. Phase 4 · Master workbook sync

    Captures 20+ fields per invoice line — party name, DBK, IGST, RoDTEP, FOB, freight, insurance, currency, exchange rate, AD code — and appends them to the master Excel register with deduplication, continued serial numbers and file-lock detection.

Python Norms Data Extraction Script

Recently built a Python script for grabbing DGFT Norms data. Working through my own logged-in DGFT session, it filters Submitted Applications for approved 'Request for fixation of Norms' records, collects each record's details, downloads the approved letter PDFs, and compiles everything into a structured Excel file.

  • Opens the DGFT website and waits for my manual sign-in before starting.
  • Filters Submitted Applications by scheme (NORMS), sub-scheme (Request for fixation of Norms) and status (Approved).
  • Processes the selected date range in 90-day chunks to keep each search manageable.
  • Extracts the draft number, file number and date from every matching record.
  • Opens each record's action menu, downloads the approved letter PDF and renames it by file number.
  • Compiles all collected records into an Excel file for review and record-keeping.
